Jamie Waller’s hobby of collecting vinyl records has turned into a business.
The Frederick resident is seeing a resurgence in people’s appreciation for vinyl records.
“People are buying less CDs and more vinyl,” Waller said. “A lot of people think it sounds better. It’s a personal preference.
“Nowadays, people think records are obsolete and out-of-date, but they’re not.”
Long-playing records are becoming cool again, Waller said.
Best Buy sells turntables, record companies are putting music on vinyl and vinyl record sales increased by 80 percent as compact discs sales decreased 45 percent in 2009, Waller said.
