“He raps about conscious issues, rather than the money he makes.”
Waller, owner of Blinding Sun Records in downtown Frederick, is the man behind Robinson’s upcoming performance at Cafe Nola on Friday, where he’ll be joined by local acts Retro/Ricole Barnes and the group Makeshift Deluxe.
Robinson has traveled the world as a hip-hop artist, but his roots began in New York and in New Jersey, where he lives today. He grew up in Queens and the Bronx, moving back and forth between the two until finally ending up in New Jersey his senior year of high school.
